Main Event Breakdown
The heavyweight main event pits Nigerian powerhouse Efe Ajagba against former IBF heavyweight champion Charles Martin in a 10-round clash that could have title implications or at least elevate the winner in the division.
- Efe Ajagba (20-1-1, with strong knockout power): The 6’6″ Nigerian has long been viewed as a prospect with devastating punching ability, though his only loss came via decision to Frank Sanchez, and he’s had a draw. Ajagba brings size, reach, and one-punch KO threat—he’s reloaded under new management and training to show improved discipline and stamina. This is a big step-up opportunity to prove he belongs in the upper echelon of heavyweights.
- Charles Martin (30-4-1): The veteran American shocked the world in 2016 by winning the IBF title from Vyacheslav Glazkov, though he lost it quickly to Anthony Joshua. Martin has faced top competition (including losses to Andy Ruiz Jr. and others) but remains dangerous with sharp boxing skills, solid defense, and experience against elite heavyweights. At this stage, he’s a tough veteran test who can expose flaws in younger power punchers.
Expect a contrast in styles: Ajagba looking to impose his physicality and land bombs early, while Martin uses footwork, counters, and ring IQ to survive and frustrate. A win for Ajagba could launch him toward bigger names; a Martin victory would be a statement resurgence for the ex-champ.
The co-main between unbeaten Russian-based Umar Dzambekov and veteran Ahmed Elbiali adds more intrigue in the light heavyweight division, with Dzambekov aiming to stay perfect against a power-punching foe.
