On Saturday, October 10, 2026, undefeated lightweights Floyd “Kid Austin” Schofield and Lucas “Prince” Bahdi meet for the vacant WBA lightweight title at Wintrust Arena in Chicago. The 12-round main event, presented by Golden Boy Promotions and Most Valuable Promotions, streams live worldwide on DAZN. The belt opened after the WBA placed former champion Gervonta Davis in recess.
Floyd Schofield has been the top contender since his highlight knockout of Tevin Farmer. As for Bahdi, he has engineered one of the most remarkable and rises in recent boxing history. He literally transformed from an unknown self-funded, unknown underdog into the next WBA lightweight world title challenger. Let’s take a look at the fighters, so you know what to look for on Saturday
Breaking Down The Fighters
Floyd “Kid Austin” Schofield
- Record: 19-0, (13 KOs)
- Age: 24
- Height/Reach: 5’7”/64½ inches
- Stance: Orthodox
- Hometown: Austin
Signed to Golden Boy and ranked No. 1 by the WBA, he carries a knockout rate near 68 percent. kid Austin’s most recent bout was a first-round knockout of former titlist Tevin Farmer in June 2025. Before that he won a 12-round unanimous decision over Rene Tellez Giron in November 2024 after being dropped in the 11th.
Schofield’s strengths are hand speed, combination volume, lateral movement, and body work. Ring rust is a factor after limited activity since the Farmer stoppage.

Lucas “Prince” Bahdi
- Record: 20-0, (15 KOs)
- Age: 32
- Height/Reach: 5’9”/68 inches
- Stance: Orthodox
- Hometown: Ontario Canada
Promoted by MVP and ranked No. 2 by the WBA, he owns a 75 percent knockout rate. Bahdi’s signature win remains the sixth-round knockout of previously unbeaten Ashton Sylve in July 2024 after trailing early.
He has since gone the distance three times, most recently a unanimous decision over Roger Gutiérrez in August 2025. Bahdi’s edges are size, one-punch power, and the ability to stay composed when behind.
Fight Analysis
This is a speed-versus-power matchup between two unbeaten fighters in their first world-title bout. Schofield holds the clearer advantages in hand speed, footwork, and output. He prefers to control distance, pot-shot, and build volume. Bahdi’s route is to close the gap, force exchanges, and punish any defensive lapses with counters, the same approach that produced the Sylve finish.
Schofield should start faster and bank early rounds if he keeps the fight at range. Bahdi remains live for a sudden shift if Schofield overcommits or lowers his hands. Schofield has been hurt before, so late-round durability under pressure is not fully settled. Bahdi has been outworked for long stretches in recent fights before landing his biggest shots, which favors the busier technician over 12 rounds if discipline holds.
Odds have Schofield a heavy favorite, generally between -650 and -800, with Bahdi in the +430 to +500 range. The co-feature has unified flyweight champion Ricardo Sandoval defending against Sergio Mendoza.
My Official Pick
Schofield by unanimous decision. Speed, activity, and ring generalship should let him control most rounds and limit Bahdi’s clean power shots. Bahdi’s threat keeps the fight from ending early, but the technical gap points to a clear decision, roughly 116-112 or 117-111.
